I looked for synonyms online for "skinny" and all I saw was: scrawny, bony, rawboned.. thin. Kinda felt like I was body shamed there for a second.
If you're thinking "she's going to complain because she's skinny? WTF?" I get that. But growing up I had to deal with people calling me anorexic day in and day out. I still get people to tell me to "eat a burger"
I remember not wanting to really wear a dress because my legs would have scabs and scars that wouldn't heal fast enough. But this is the way I was born. This is the way God made me. They say "sticks and stones may hurt my bones but names will never hurt me" false....
Names and words can hurt you. That's what drives people to suicide.
let just be nice and love each other..
Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. There will be people out there who will try to hurt each other down. People who think they're bigger than you, even thought they're only letting themselves feel worse.
I say just change the way you think. Stop caring about what others think of you.
It's crazy to think that someone who's too thin and wrapping your fingers around their wrist and making fun of "snapping them easily" is okay but calling someone fat is unacceptable. Body shaming shouldn't be defined as to someone who needs to lose weight. If you can tell me to gain weight why can't I tell you to lose weight?
Don't get me wrong, I love food., I can eat like nobody's business. Sometimes I can eat more than my boyfriend, But i typically try to eat healthy and go to the gym as frequent as I can. l'll get people telling me "why do you even need to go to the gym? You're already skinny"
uhmm.. I would like my arteries to not get clogged up in the future and it makes me feel good.
Exercise is important for everyone, regardless of my figure, I'm going to play tennis, go to the gym because I like the way it makes my body feels.
So despite the saying that "real women have curves" or "chicken legs" are a bad thing. Let's all embrace our bodies and continue to stop caring about what others think.
