You may have heard or read to stop comparing yourself to others. Sadly a lot of people still do. In this article, I wanted to help those who are ready for change.
There will always be someone better than you
Someone once told me this and it took me time to confess my insecurities and admit that everyone else is going to succeed faster than me. Someone I know is going to find a better job or travel somewhere exotic for a living.
Even if you're achieving great things someone else is going to be achieving something greater than you. No one can attain everything. There will always be someone accomplishing better things than you and that is okay!
We're just jealous people
We constantly want something that's out of reach. I always see people on social media with a new car, perfect body or a beautiful home. It's human nature that we feel the need to have it to ourselves as well.
In David Bonham-Carter book "how to overcome jealousy" he states the common features of jealousy.
"1. A tendency to compare yourself to someone else
2. A worry or belief that in some respect you lack something that someone else has or are inferior to them in some way.
3. Attaching a very high degree of importance to this sense of inadequacy so that you may get it completely out of proportion".

We're human, we all do it. Even if we don't mean to, we will always compare our lives to others. Admit it, we try to make our egos feel better by comparing ourselves to people like "I'm so glad I'm not in her situation" as if we have a done something good with ourselves.
In today's society, its so easy to get wrapped around that thought. We can easily go on social media and have a photo tossed in our faces wishing we could go on that same adventure. We see a split second of there lives and we assume they have there life together.
Do not spend time trying to be like something or someone else because you think it will make you happy because it wont.
